Our gifts or talents are not always recognized right away. We are all unique and sometimes, we are in circumstances that don’t allow our talents to shine. But if we pay attention, we can see how over the years, we are given the chance to develop our gifts and if we allow ourselves the chance to use them, we can really build an amazing life. The ANSWER is always… Return to Love

Starting a yoga practice
For me, Yoga is a practice of connecting body, mind, and spirit. I am so grateful for this practice in my life. Some people ask if yoga is a religion. They are concerned that yoga will conflict with their beliefs. Here is my favorite response to that question:
“To answer this question, I look to the roots of yoga. Traditionally, yoga is the science of the Self. Yoga seeks to help us understand our inner world through various techniques that include meditation, asanas, breathing, focused awareness, and certain rules of behavior and conduct. If by religion we mean the religious experience of transcendence, the loss of fear of death, and the emergence of platonic qualities such as truth, beauty, goodness, harmony, and evolution, then yes, yoga can give us a religious experience. It is not religion in the form of ideology, dogma, belief systems, or compliance; it’s a spiritual experience that gives us access to a universal domain of reality.” —Deepak Chopra
If you want to try yoga, there are a million ways to get started. I love taking classes. If you have never done yoga, start slowly. You can easily head over to Pinterest to find simple poses. You can type in a search for “beginning yoga” on Google. Of course, Youtube is a great resource. Here is an amazing and FREE, 30-day video playlist that I have used:
Yoga is not a competition, it’s a journey. Listen to your body. Connect.
Namaste.
Demonstrating my right to choose…

I’ve heard so many comments and objections. Things like, “You’re too young!” or “You’re too pretty…” Thanks but
really?
I started greying when I was 26 and have been spending a fortune
to hide it ever since. I have stained countless items of clothing doing it myself, I’ve spent hours in salons. I’ve even let friends and family have at it (one such incident left me looking like a basketball.)
My brother recently reminded me that as a little girl, I threw a fit and insisted my mother was absolutely
forbidden to let her hair go gray. I hadn’t remembered that until he brought it up. I remember feeling that she was my world and that grey meant old and that old meant death. This was an idea that I subconsciously carried into my own adulthood. Today, I understand that those were the thoughts of a little girl affected by the worlds idea about aging. Oddly enough, my son who is nine, has not objected one bit to my grey but instead continues to reinforce how beautiful he thinks I am, no matter what. (Oh my gosh that kid breaks my heart, I’m regularly inspired by his love and compassion!!!)
I’m not ashamed to be my age. I am healthy and like how I look but most of all, I like having CHOICES. I like the idea of being grey, or brown, or red or blonde as an accessory NOT as a definition of my being. If I choose dye or not, I ALWAYS want to choose
ME…
SO today I am grey until I choose not to be. It is not my intention to make others uncomfortable or to make myself less attractive physically. It is my intention to be me. I did post this picture on Facebook and received so much love.
“…Our deepest fear
is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is
that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness,
that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant,
gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are
a child of God. Your playing small doesn’t serve the world. There’s
nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel
insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were
born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just
in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we
unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re
liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates
others.” ~Marianne Williamson
As I shine on in my own way, I am honored to inspire others to shine too.
Benefits and Some Guidance on Fasting
Fasting is a great way to bring in the new year. After the Holiday’s, most of us can relate to wanting to start fresh. I myself am really looking forward to cleansing my body. I’m looking forward to shedding a few pounds and even more to having a SPIRITUAL BREAKTHROUGH.
You see, fasting can be a powerful experience. In almost every
religion, fasting is mentioned and is connected with being purified and/or in touch with the divine. Fasting is mentioned in both the Old and New
Testament, in the Mahabharata, in the Upanishads and in the Qur’an. So while you take the time to connect to the healing of your body and mind, you may also benefit from a connection to spirit.
If you’ve never fasted before, I recommend starting out with a 3-day juice
fast. Actually, this is a 5-day program. On the first day eat nothing
but raw fruits and veggies (avoid fruits if you have any sugar issues).
For the next three days have simple juices for all your meals (green
only if you have sugar issues). On the last day, eat a simple raw diet –
just fruit and salads. This gives your body a chance to enter into a
cleansing cycle gradually and gracefully, and then step out of the
cleansing cycle gradually and safely as well. Don’t shock your body by
breaking the fast too suddenly with a pizza as that can cause more harm
than the good you did while fasting!

- Try to drink only freshly squeezed juice from fresh fruits and vegetables.
Having a juicer is a definite advantage while you are on this type of
fast, but of you cannot manage either a juicer or fresh fruits, then
consuming juices from juice bars and health food stores is advised. Try
to avoid packed juices that are processed and chemically preserved. - Use organic fruits and vegetables for your juice fasting recipes.
In case you cannot find fresh organic fruits, then try to get rid of
the chemicals by peeling the fruit or vegetable and washing it
thoroughly. - You should consume at least six to eight glasses of normal room temperature
water and at least two to four liters of fresh juice when on a juice
fasting diet. - You can avoid citrus fruits since they cause acidity on an empty stomach. Drinking the juice
of green fruits and vegetables is advised so that you can get the benefits of chlorophyll. Some of the most commonly advised fruits and vegetables are apple, cranberry, pineapple, carrot, celery, cabbage, kale, beetroot, spinach and other green vegetables. Try to drink both fruit and vegetable juices. You can find a number of fasting recipes on the internet that will make your fast more interesting and healthy. - A properly conducted juice fast is one of the best methods of fasting detoxification and fasting weight loss. To get maximum benefits from your juice fast, consult your doctor or dietician, since they will be able to advise you regarding what to eat and what not eat, and how
exactly to go about your fast based on your medical history.
I am releasing my intentieon out into the Universe. May you all have a beautiful and profound breakthrough. May it be exactly what you need to step into the fabulous you of next year!
Getting 2 Know U: Tolerance > Acceptance > LOVE or at least UnH8
So, the Holiday’s are coming up and they are a very special time of year for a many groups of people. In the US, most of us have adopted the winter solstice, as Christmas. Now, although that sentence may cost me readers… It’s never my aim to offend, I only desire to share what I think, learn, experience and perceive.
Religion is a very delicate topic. It’s been both the cause of great unity and of separation. It’s compelled some to love and others to hate. I try to be very objective in my writing because I don’t think the specifics of belief have anything to do with what I talk about.
I wanted to share this resource because, I think it’s a great source of education. As long as we occupy the physical realm, there will probably be fear, ignorance, hatred, discord. These things seem to be the plight of the humans, even within ourselves. Perhaps education will not lead to open mindedness and fear will prevail but my intention remains to share my deepest desire to promote peace through expansion of consciousness.
So, here it is, PATHEOS.com. A place to ask the questions you might not feel comfortable asking anyone you know OR that no one around you may be able to answer. We are not in utopia. We will have disagreements, misunderstandings and discord with those around us. In the end, if we choose to unlike, unlove or even H8 someone, at least we might let it be based on their qualities as an individual, not on the blanket basis of their beliefs.

FROM THE WEBSITE: Founded in 2008, Patheos.com is the premier online destination to engage
in the global dialogue about religion and spirituality and to explore
and experience the world’s beliefs. Patheos is the website of choice for
the millions of people looking for credible and balanced information
about religion. Patheos brings together faith communities, academics,
and the broader public into a single environment, and is the place where
many people turn on a regular basis for insight, inspiration, and
stimulating discussion.
