Our gifts or talents are not always recognized right away. We are all unique and sometimes, we are in circumstances that don’t allow our talents to shine. But if we pay attention, we can see how over the years, we are given the chance to develop our gifts and if we allow ourselves the chance to use them, we can really build an amazing life. Everyday Miracles
The other day, I had a chat with a woman that caused the the tears to just stream down my face. I asked for her permission to post this conversation up. I’ve change her name
to protect her identity but it’s messages like HERS that inspire me to
be a better person and continue to encourage other people to go after their dreams.
Milagros: Hi Angel my name is Milagros they call me La Linda. I’ve also been H.I.V for over 16years and I would truly one day like to meet u very much. I really wish u would think about it. Anyways thank u for making the movie Mi Vida Loca
Me: You are a miracle! Thinking about you this morning. Sending vibes of positive energy and love.
Milagros: U are my miracle just with the positive thing u say really touch my heart
Me: Stay healthy. Keep knowing in your heart how special you are and how much
of an inspiration your victory and survival can mean to someone else.
It has meant the world to me…
I want to share this because sometimes we have no
idea how connected we all are to each other.
I made Mi Vida Loca as a young girl. I liked acting. I fell into it and it seemed like something fun. When I left, it was because I didn’t know how to balance the industry demands with the “normal life,” I wanted. Having taken the path I did and grown into the woman I am today, I am just so grateful.
I recognize the beauty and success of the actresses that busted their butts to make names for themselves. Yay for them for forging a way for more equal treatment and recognition of an often under represented people. There will always be some sort of sacrifices and challenges in life but sometimes I think the greatest gift we can give the world is to find what we love and just do it.
Most of us have no idea, how the
things we do (even 20 years later) will impact other people. All I can say it that it feels amazing to make a positive difference in someone’s life. Thank you to so many of you who share how important the film has been in your life. Thank you to everyone who boldly does what they’ve been called to do (even when it seems crazy!) Thank you God, for this adventure is filled with everyday miracles for those who are ready to see them…
The color PURPLE
I came across this flower on one of my walks and it instantly reminded me of my mom. Purple was her color. Half her wardrobe was hues of purple. It’s funny because it wasn’t until after she passed that began to do more research into the psychology of color. I’ve come across several meanings for the color purple and some describe my mom to a T. Purple has been used to symbolize magic and mystery,
as well as royalty. Violet
color meaning connects it with that world of duality which is the lunar
and psychic domain – moon standing between sun and earth, soul between
spirit and body.

to know, my dad might have disagreed with that but I’d wholeheartedly say YES! They can be secretive, so that even when they seem to confide
freely, their closest friends never completely understand them.
People who are attracted to purple are people
who have an aura of mystery and intrigue. Purple is often preferred by
artists. People who like to consider themselves different from the
common herd or unconventional often prefer purple. Purple is the color of good judgment. It is the color of people
seeking spiritual fulfillment. It is said if you surround yourself with
purple you will have peace of mind. Violet is the color of purpose and is associated with the Crown chakra (More on Chakras in another post!).
Now for something FUN…

Were your results accurate? Mine were. In a previous post
I mentioned a study that found color in the visual environment,
important because of its powerful impact on the brain. I love snapping
pictures as I make my way through life and really love the intense
colors I find naturally occurring in my world. Since purple is a good color to use in
meditation, I ‘m glad to have taken this shot of a purple flower. I’ll be using it to deStress a bit…

Seeds of Greatness

In a previous post called The Science of Getting, I mentioned a great place to find books that expand mind and encourage higher consciousness. Many of the resources available in that post are free, so one needs only to make time to receive the information, in order to access the power in knowledge. I have been reading or rather “LISTENING” to The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles. It’s really quite a lovely read. Wattles was a part of a generation of authors exploring new age thinking. He wrote several books inspired by the understanding of the “thinking stuff” or “intelligent substance.” If you’ve ever sensed or believed there was an energy in between what was seen, you might know exactly what this stuff or substance was. The stuff, is infinite. Always producing…
So, a few things came to mind during my reading. One was on greatness. Some people are under the impression that they cannot be great at something. While most of us have a natural proficiency for certain things, I think we are all capable of greatness. Wattles has this to say:
“You can begin to be great to-day in your own home, in your store or
office, on the street, everywhere; you can begin to make yourself known
as great; and you can do this by doing everything you do in a great way”
Many of us never have either been encouraged to be great OR been brave enough to be. We have been afraid that our desire for greatness would result in failure, ridicule, condemnation. A desire for greatness can often be confused with arrogance. After all, we don’t want to get too big for our britches right? That’s where the other quote from Wattles hit home for me…
“The more gratefully we fix our minds on the Supreme when good things
come to us, the more good things we will receive, and the more rapidly
they will come; and the reason simply is that the mental attitude of
gratitude draws the mind into closer touch with the source from which
the blessings come.”
If we can manage to be absolutely grateful for every single circumstance in our lives, where might we venture to go? There would be nowhere we need fear to travel, no level of greatness unattainable. I have challenged myself to write an impossible list. This list of impossible things contains all the things I ever thought I couldn’t be great at because it was “impossible.” Next to that list, I am also writing the daily things that I do that actually put me on the road to that list. It is my desire to impress upon the thinking stuff, that I want to be great, I am grateful for all that I have and I am consciously looking to be, do, have and share more!!!
So my friends, sow seeds of gratitude and greatness and reap the harvest of more life that awaits you.
Peace and blessings.

Meditation For People Too Busy or Distracted to Meditate

The “Pearl” and I head up to my secret spot to take in the splendor. |
In a previous post I mentioned some fascinating facts about meditation. Meditation is a broad and somewhat mysterious term for some. I’ve run into many people who say they cannot meditate because they cannot keep their mind quiet.
Meditation is any form of a family of practices in which practitioners train their minds or self-induce a mode of consciousness to realize some benefit.
Meditation doesn’t have to be done in a seated position. I often talk about walking or hiking as a way to get centered. For
me, this type of movement is a form of meditation but I didn’t realize
it until, I started to practice.
One blogger suggests that, any activity in
which you can slow down your mind, become more inwardly focused and
more rooted in the present moment can offer the benefits of meditation.
His post Meditation Techniques for the Busy or Impatient is full of ideas to take the pressure off of meditating “correctly” and just reaping the benefits of slowing down.
- Exercise Meditation- Walking, Running, Swimming, Biking, Yoga…
- Bathing Meditation- Turn your shower or take a bath, into a spa experience…
- Music Meditation- Music is such a powerful tool. Set an intention for your next playlist…
- Hobby Meditation- Paint, write, color, garden; just BE free and allow your mind to fully focus…
- Massage Meditation- HELLO! I’m sure to incorporate this into a more regular practice as I have just met the most special massage therapist on planet earth….
- If All Else Fails – The 10 Minute Dark Room Meditation- Or 5 Minute Dimly Lit Room Meditation- Or 2.5 Minute Youtube Video or Guided Meditation…
The bottom line is that if you want to incorporate the stress reduction and/or higher conscious benefits of meditation, there is a way. You just have to do it!
You’re not alone! A 2007 study by the U.S. government found that nearly 9.4% of U.S.
adults (over 20 million) had practiced meditation within the past 12
months, up from 7.6% (more than 15 million people) in 2002.
