Having tried almost everything that came my way, I am happy to report that my search ultimately resulted in an anxiety and panic attack free existence. I wanted to share a little on forgiveness because it is something that I think not only had the biggest impact on my life but also something that I am discovering continues to add to the quality of my everyday life. Self-Love, Affirmed…
I mention the acronym F.L.Y. in this blog quite a bit. It stands for First Love Yourself. The more love we have for ourselves, the more of service and closer we can be to others without feeling overwhelmed. I’m not talking about the feelings we can get from temporarily indulging our ego; I mean the ego surely serves a purpose but for deep, long term self-love I’m talking the most genuine, hopeful, fearless, forgiving and endless variety. In previous posts, I have mentioned the benefits of positive affirmations. This affirmation is quite special.
I Love Myself Affirmation by Louise Hay
Deep at the centre of my being,
there is an infinite well of love.
I now allow this love to flow to the surface.
It fills my heart, my body, my mind, my consciousness,
my very being, and radiates out from me in all directions
and returns to me mutliplied.
The more love I use and give, the more I have to give.
The supply is endless.
The use of love makes me feel good,
it is an expression of my inner joy.
I love myself;
therefore, I take loving care of my body.
I lovingly feed it nourishing foods and beverages,
I lovingly groom it and dress it, and my body lovingly
responds to me with vibrant health and energy.
I love myself; therefore provide for myself
a comfortable home, one that fills
all my needs and is a pleasure to be in.
I fill the rooms with the vibration of love
so that all who enter, myself included,
will feel this love and be nourished by it.
I love myself; therefore I work at a job I truly enjoy
doing, one that uses my creative talents and abilities,
working with and for people I love and who love me,
and earning a good income.
I love myself; therefore, I behave and think in a loving
way to all people for I know that that which I give out
returns to me multiplied.
I only attract loving people in my world,
for they are a mirror of what I am.
I love myself; therefore I forgive and totally release
the past and all past experiences and I am free.
I love myself; therefore I live totally in the now,
experiencing each moment as good and knowing that
my future is bright and joyous and secure,
for I am a beloved child of the Universe
and the Universe lovingly takes care of me
now and forever more.
And so it is.
I created this affirmation audio and wanted to share it with you all… ENJOY.
Social Media Tip:
There’s an app called SoundCloud that you can use to record and share this or your own affirmations. Even if you don’t share with other people, using the cloud app will allow you to share among various devices. If you are an auditory and kinesthetic learner, you might really benefit if you listen to YOURSELF speak these beautiful words while you sleep, drive, bathe, walk, jog, cook…
love always,

Reconnecting with your “Why.”
Image via Wikipedia |
Most of us have had a time in our life, professionally, romantically or physically where we thought “Nothing here seems to be working. I want to quit…” We started that great project but now progress is slow, passion evaporates, and everywhere we look the signs seem to be saying “give up.” Do we quit? How do we get up enough desire to keep going? The writer summarizes the top line points to finding inspiration, even when the world is telling you to give up.
The first point is, reconnecting with “why.”
Often called “THE why” or “YOUR why”, it’s really just a way to identify your purpose and get more out of life. The “why”, is why we do what we do, or, why we want to do, what we want to do…
I reflected on this question a bit and I will share with you what I came up with. Years ago, my daughter’s school sponsored an event. It was an awesome opportunity for the kids and parents to physically serve some members of the community. While there, I met a beautiful young lady. She was 16 years old, her mom had two jobs and she was responsible for her five younger siblings (including a set of autistic twins). While this situation would’ve completely overwhelmed many adults, this girl was not bitter, frazzled or jaded. She was extremely alert but with our kids around to entertain her siblings, she began to loosen up and actually enjoy herself. She confessed to being a huge Mi Vida Loca fan and wanted to know all about my experiences as an actress. I shared my stories about, auditions, combating stage fright and traveling around the world. At the end of the evening, she approached me and said “thank you for spending so much time with me,” then she asked, “would be okay for me to dream of doing something like that?”
I was stunned. No one had ever asked me for permission to dream. Until that moment, it had never occurred to me that anyone needed permission to dream. I’ve since discovered that many of us wander the planet looking, waiting, wanting permission not only to dream but to live. Permission based living. This seems to be at the core of my why. I’m a woman who grew up in an odd household and who’s made some odd choices in life. On my journey, I so desperately wanted to be “normal” that I made changes that began to suffocate me. I’m just not ever going to be that iconic 50’s woman I imagined was supposed to be in order to feel “normal.”
When I let my twisted idea of the ’50’s mom’ go, without judgment or blame, I gave myself permission to take all that I learned from my quest to be her and apply it to who I actually am. My nauseating optimism, my love of cooking, my bedtime story routines with my kids, don’t clash with my desire to embrace my sexuality, travel, write, speak or dance, they enhance it. I gave myself permission to be dynamic, bold and perfectly imperfect. I gave myself permission to turn I forgive you into THANK YOU; to turn I couldn’t into ‘why not?’ and to turn belief into POSSIBILITY.
I am humbled and amazed by the loyalty of Mi Vida Loca fans. The fact that the movie is 20 years old and still so popular is, in my opinion, a testimony to how many people can be touched and inspired when a brave few are willing to be true to their WHY. My “why” is about sharing my experience, strength and hope with others. It’s about finding the good of what is and teaching people to give themselves permission to live in it.

Got Forgiveness?
In the last couple of weeks, forgiveness has been a reoccurring theme in my life. I hear it in messages at church, I see it posted in quotes online, I talk about it with friends… I wanted to share a letter of forgiveness I received one day…
